Private screening for WI members Cineworld Cinemas invited members of Oxfordshire WIs to celebrate the opening of the new state of the art Cineworld in Didcot by attending an exclusive private screening of the newly released film,The Painted Veil, on the evening of Wednesday 2nd May 2007. The cinema officially opens its doors to the public on Friday 4th May 2007, and local WI members were being offered the chance to attend their own personal film showcase and be some of the first to enjoy the new cinema. We had a lovely evening - the seats in the cinema are wide and comfortable with plenty of leg room - and it was a great film too with some impressive scenery. Bargain hunters may be interested to know about the matinee (1pm) Monday Classic where you can see films that you may have missed when they first came out for a mere £2.50 - Monday 7th will be The Queen. There's also Bargain Tuesday when tickets are £4 instead of £6.50 | ||

WI at the Brightwell-cum-Sotwell Fete Yet again we had a wonderful range of home-made produce including freshly baked bread, a wide range of delicious looking cakes, preserves, fruit, vegetables and loads of garden plants. And a very special appearance - baby Clara - see picture. | ||
