Our next walk will be on WEDNESDAY, 18th August. Liz and Viv are leading .

ATTENTION !!! They would like us to meet at Wallingford  outside' Boots ' by 9. 45 am  -    NOT at the VH this time.

 

To summarise. From Towncentre we will be walking along the Thames path up to Shilli bridge and then take the footpath over the top back to Brightwell. Stops for rest and food as the mood takes us on the day.

The format of our walks:

-  about 4 - 5 miles, making it about 2 to 2 and a half hours in time.

-  as shorter Warburton walks have been done we may have to start working out our own. 

-  we meet at 9.30 am,  leaving it optional for people to stay for lunch

-  meet at Village Hall to work out car share

Garden Visits:

26th May 2010 - Doneywood Garden, Burnham, Buckinghamshire -It is an 8 acre country house garden on several levels with herbaceous borders, greenhouses, rose, cottage and kitchen gardens, lily pond and conservatory.

£3.50 for NT members & £4.50 non NT members, tea can be purchased on site.

9th June 2010 - Mariners, Mariners Lane, Bradfield, Berkshire – it is at the south end of Bradfield which is just south of the M4. 1 acre sloping site with creative feature made of slopes. Rich mix of herbaceous planting and grasses arranged in colour themes. 5.50 including tea

 

1st July 2010 - Highgrove group size 25 cost £27.50 including coach fare. 25 places, photographic identification required – FULLY BOOKED

 

21st July 2010 - Upper Chalford Farm, near Sydenham, A Jacobean farmhouse garden, old roses, shrubs and perennials, dark border with arisaemas, hostas etc. Unusual trees and an ancient black pine. Sundial garden and conservatory with vine and plumbagoe. Spring garden with early snowdrops, narcissi and cherry blossom overlooking a natural pond and stream banked with damp-loving plants, flowing into woodland with treehouse. Donkeys and bantams. Location for 'Midsomer Murders'. £4.50 tea or £5.50 cream tea, minimum of 10

Race for Life  Oxford -11am on Saturday 5th June.

Only 5 km

Go to the Race for Life website, register for a place, pay your entry fee and then put your name on our list.  We had a good group last year so let’s see what we can do in 2010.
