Visit to The Old Rectory on 14th May 2008

Here are a few photos of the garden visit to The Old Rectory, Farnborough, Wantage which is the former home of John Betjeman.

There were 17 of us and once again we had lovely weather. The garden was beautiful and was made up of a series of garden rooms. The first photo is of the John Piper window in the church in memory of John Betjeman. The second is the boule area in the French style part of the garden. The third is wild garlic which was growing all through the arboretum. Finally, as you can see we enjoyed a slice or two in some cases of delicious homemade cake and cup/s of tea.

If anyone is interested the garden will be open to the general public on the afternoon of the 22nd June. It is well worth a visit.
