Welcome to the Brightwell-cum-Sotwell WI website

Brightwell-cum-Sotwell WI

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month in the Village Hall, doors open at 7.30pm - start at 7.45pm. Look out for posters with more details. We don't sing Jerusalem, make jam and haven't any plans for a calendar - yet! We're a friendly, lively crowd and you will be welcomed most warmly. Why not come along?

Celebrating our 1st birthday

What a first birthday party we had - starting with the Doyle Academy of Irish dancers. Aged nine to seventeen, in three hundred pound dresses adorned with Celtic motifs, they performed reels (assisted by some of the audience at one point) and pieces from River Dance, introduced by Ann Marie Gallacher, their founder and ex-world dancing champion who had taken over from Michael Flatley when he was dancing with the Chieftains. After an immense shared supper we cut a beautiful cake, made by Jo Saunders, and toasted our future in bubbly. It's been a brilliantly successful first year and can only get better.
